Welcome to my personal movie diary!

Not sure what to watch next? I’ve got you.

This is where I share the movies I watch and genuinely recommend. Every Wednesday and Sunday, I add a new title to the list, building a collection of films that stood out to me, whether it’s because of the story, the vibe, or just how unforgettable they are. The most recent movie that was added to the list, will be highlighted in red.

Hopefully, you’ll discover something you love here too.

The ultimate list:

Real Steel

Release year: 2011

Where to watch: YouTube, Amazon prime

Why you should watch it?:
Real Steel just completely wins you over, whether you want it to or not.

On the surface, it’s about robots boxing in futuristic arenas, which already sounds fun. But underneath that, it’s really a story about a flawed father, a smart and stubborn kid, and the weird little robot they find that somehow brings them together.

It’s got action, it’s got heart, and it never feels forced or overdramatic. You just end up caring way more than you thought you would.

Also, Hugh Jackman is perfect in this role: rough, flawed, but still someone you root for.

It was the first action movie I’ve ever watched in 2011 and it still is one of my favorites.

Basically: if you want a movie that’s a fun watch but still hits a but emotionally, Real Steel is an easy yes.

PS. If you’re a marvel fan and that hasn’t won you over: this movie doesn’t have only one Marvel actor, but 3 😉

Roommates

Release year: 2026

Where to watch: Netflix

Why should you watch?:
Roommates is one of those movies that feels a bit chaotic at first… and then suddenly way too real.

It starts off simple: two college girls become roommates, instant besties vibes, everything seems perfect. But yeah… that doesn’t last. What follows is a messy mix of passive-aggressive fights, awkward tension, and moments that feel way too relatable.

What makes it such a great watch is how real it feels. It’s funny, but not in a forced way — more like “this is painfully accurate” kind of funny. And instead of focusing on romance, it really leans into friendship, insecurities, and figuring yourself out.

It’s a little chaotic, a little emotional, and honestly just very real.

Perfect if you want something light but still relatable enough to stick with you after.

We Bought a Zoo

Release year: 2011

Where to watch: Disney+, YouTube

Why you should watch:
We Bought a Zoo is one of those feel-good movies that just quietly warms your heart without trying too hard.

It’s about a dad who, in a slightly impulsive life decision, buys a house… that comes with an entire zoo. Sounds chaotic (and it is), but that’s exactly what makes it so fun. Between all the animals, the messy fresh start, and the emotional ups and downs, it ends up being way more meaningful than you’d expect.

It’s wholesome, a little bit chaotic, and honestly just really comforting to watch.

Perfect for when you want something soft and hopeful.
